Seeing sam & Max again makes me realize how much I missed it. God bless you Steve Purcell, your twisted humor has thankfully warped our young impressionable minds.

To Lucasarts for passing up an opppurtunity like this, you can go rot in... you know.

Is great!
Comment by John H, January 26, 2006, 12:27 am
Hehheh! This was definitely the the best comic so far out of these four. (Though every one of them has been great) I laughed so hard. :)
Comment by Kolzig January 26, 2006, 12:50 am
This is the funniest one yet! I, too, laughed multiple times. Good work!
Comment by Jeff Mumm January 26, 2006, 12:52 am
Yeah, the strip is taking great shape and I love the style. It's just a pity these can't be downloaded and stored - how about making flatfile versions available as well - I dig hovering over boxes for speech, but I can't email that to someone (bar the permalink) or take it on a flash disc with me!

So what?

Best one yet! The unique Sam and Max brand of humor is back in full force and I cannot thank you enough for it.
Comment by Behonkiss January 26, 2006, 2:53 pm
Man, as an old-time Sam and Max fan, I can not get enough of these. I mean, I love Half-Life 2 and Halo 2, but Freelance Police was my most anticipated game for 2004. I'm so happy that Telltale Games has dug Sam and Max out of their still-fresh Kilpeck graves. :)
Comment by Robert Flannigan January 26, 2006, 3:23 pm
"..scaly ass, self propelled, gutter cheese that's going to take the long hard fall for this..."

That's what I'm talkin' 'bout... rock the hell on!

mojo sends

I think its great steves taking the time to color all these panels in for us.. it looks great..and hes doin them pretty fast!
Comment by hierohero January 27, 2006, 5:11 am
Yes, it's very much appreciated that these are even being made. I've seen them being word of mouth'd around all sorts of high profile places to do, so I'd imagine there's no shortage of audience!
Comment by Ryan January 27, 2006, 11:10 am
Wh- Where's the DeSoto? (Starts sobbing uncontrollably)
Comment by The Dave January 27, 2006, 3:40 pm
I cannot beleive that it too until now for me to realise you had to mouse-over to see the text.

For those, like myself, who suffer from incurable stupidity, could you please put something like this below the panels?

Either that, or a stpuidity test prior to entering to filter us out?

Am i the only one who seems to be unable to get some of the dialouge because what they are saying (and by they i mean sam because i only seem to get his word bubbles) feels disjointed and this which i assume is from the comic appearantly "scaly ass, self propelled, gutter cheese that's going to take the long hard fall for this" i cannot find anywhere. HELP!!
Comment by Chris January 28, 2006, 8:33 am
For years I've treasured my copy of "sam and max hit the road," reading and re-reading until it became dog-eared, worn and covered in unidentifible stains. welcome back, sam and max. welcome back.

It is great to see "the Sun" being protrayed accurately in the comic...Keep up the good work on S&M - I remember watching the old cartoon series and the I bought the LA game a couple of years back...I am going to buy the books eventually (read: when I get a job) I can't wait to find out where this is going and I hope you are doing well.
Comment by Ronald-san February 3, 2006, 8:54 am
I can't tell you how happy this makes me, because words of praise do not exist in volumes that expressive.

I can say that I am very happy. And that this is an understatement.

Sweet action.

nice comic
but it would be great if therewould be buttons like "first" and " last" comic
Comment by ray February 7, 2006, 7:41 am
awersome !!!! steve pursel it's just....the best ^^
Comment by kerzakhov February 10, 2006, 11:16 am
This is brilliant. For the game you should get Bill Farmer as Sam and Nathen Lane as Max. They would do a great job doing their voices.
Comment by Jad February 11, 2006, 2:08 pm
This is so awesome to see Sam and Max back. I just wish the updates could be just a scosh more frequent though.
Comment by Justin Reilly February 12, 2006, 2:23 pm
Yay! Good to see Sam and Max again!
... but why these mouseover texts? That's kinda stupid
Comment by Oliver February 15, 2006, 2:13 pm

I like the fact they've stolen Mr. Bean's car!
Comment by Emtrey November 11, 2006, 5:40 am
I LOVE IT!!!! I have missed Sam & Max soooo much. And they keep doing jokes about LucasArts: "premature burial", "cryogenic stasis"... I hate George Lucas for cancelating Monkey Island 5, Grim Fandango 2, Full Throtle 2 and of course, Sam & Max: Freelance Police... bastard... the are more than enough Star Wars games, Georgie.
Comment by Nico March 9, 2007, 8:13 am
You said it! Curse that George Lucas! That egocentric buckethead doesn't know true comical genius even if it crawled up into his pant-leg and died!
Comment by vyprspit July 1, 2007, 10:30 pm
"Monkey Island 5, Grim Fandango 2"
Uh, those were never officially started production-wise. They just had a few concepts or were considering it. As for Full Throtle 2 and Sam and Max: Freelance Police, after seeing Escape From Monkey Island, I'm not too sure that I'd want to see them bastardize those two series as well and then say "Oh they suck and can't make money!" because they made a crap game.

Also, is that Mr. Bean's car?!

Nice goings on for two freelance police officers, seems that the vortex to life is currently doing the good job for investigating. I like Sam & Max. See You. Yvan.
